A Poetic Cantata for Voices and Strings
Inner Astronomy is a personal, intimate work from emerging Los Angeles performer-composer Molly Pease. Setting the words from her late father's poetry to music, Molly deftly straddles the line between folk and "indie" classical. She mixes the extended vocal techniques found in work by Meredith Monk and Theo Bleckmann with lush string and vocal harmonies that reminds one of the work of Natalie Prass or Tori Amos.
